Lakshmi Vijayabhaskar is a distinguished artist whose mastery of classical Gold-Leaf Tanjore Painting stands as a testament to her profound artistic depth. Born into a lineage of eminent traditional artists, she carries forward a rich family legacy, preserving a tradition deeply rooted in heritage and devotion.

Trained from childhood under the guidance of her father, she upholds the authentic Guru–Shishya Parampara, absorbing the intricate techniques of classical Tanjore art with dedication and discipline.

A recipient of the prestigious Lepakshi State Award (2003), she has also served as a certified mentor under the Ministry of Textiles’ Guru–Shishya Parampara Programme, contributing significantly to the preservation and propagation of this sacred art form.

She has trained more than 500 students, actively promoting traditional Indian arts and nurturing future generations of artists. Her educational background includes an M.A., B.A., and diplomas in Fine Arts, Watercolor Painting, Textile Designing, and Early Childhood Care & Education.
